When you come to Morocco, you want the trip of a lifetime! So it’s good to know when are the best times of year to travel.
The highest seasons for travel to Morocco are spring (mid-March to mid-May) and autumn (September to mid-November) when the weather is usually warm and sunny, but not too hot. The Christmas and New Year period is also extremely popular with visitors, when you can still have sunshine and blue skies – but you need to be prepared with some warm layers for the colder nights. Besides these periods, February is a very beautiful month, when the almond blossoms are out and there is still snow on the high mountains. In the summer months of July and August temperatures can be very hot, though it is usually cooler in the mountains than in the big cities and the Sahara Desert. As with the rest of the world, the seasons are becoming rather less predictable in Morocco, so do check the forecast before you come. We are always happy to let you know local conditions if you contact us just before your trip.
Tourism has greatly increased in Morocco in recent years, so it’s worth booking well ahead of time so that Sahara Atlas Tours can reserve you the best hotels – we use mainly traditional Moroccan riads because of their charm, but these tend to be quite small with not so many rooms, and they can get fully booked months in advance.
